Reportedly, only 750 were produced.
As its nickname implies, this model was made available in December 1985, just in time for Christmas. Once the Christmas season came to an end, Volkswagen nicknamed this model "Lady Charme" beginning in January, 1986. The car's official model name is, however, Golf Cabrio "CC".
Actor Jeremy Irons owned one; his CC was featured in the first UK issue of Volkswagen's Car & Driver magazine. This car is still living and is now in New Zealand, and has been entered into the Cabriolet Registry!
Contrary to popular belief, CC does not stand for "Coco Chanel". It is believed this myth began due to the Christmas Cabrio advertisement associating the special CC-
